James Mitchell

James is a veteran, former law enforcement officer, and former tactical operator who served in patrol, investigations, and specialty assignments. He trained others as a field training officer, defensive tactics instructor, and member of specialized units.

He is the author of Life Still Calls: A Practical Guide to Identity, Trauma, and Purpose After Public Safety Service. His work draws on the identity loss, trauma, accountability, and recovery described in the book.

His writing appears in Policing Insight and the September 2026 FOP Journal.
